Charles E. Zaleski concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate, land use, development, and zoning law. He received his bachelors degree from the Pennsylvania State University and is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Prior to joining Salzmann Hughes, Chuck was a principal with Reager & Adler, P.C., a general practice law firm, where he was responsible for real estate, land use and development law matters, and litigation.
Chuck possesses extensive knowledge of municipal land use, finance, and planning both as an attorney and as a professional planner, having served as assistant director of the York County Planning Commission; principal planner for Buchart-Horn Consulting Engineers; director of the Lycoming County Planning Commission; and staff consultant for the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy. He is a frequent lecturer to developer, municipal, realtor, planner and professional design audiences and serves as a guest lecturer for the Pennsylvania State University, Widener School of Law, and the Dickinson School of Law. In addition, Chuck has provided contributing content and opinions for the Growing Greener state environmental legislation and on the regulation of cellular towers by local governments.
An active author and instructor, Chuck regularly leads courses on the Municipalities Planning Code, zoning policy, subdivision, and land development for state agencies; the Pennsylvania League of Cities; the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors; the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs; and the Pennsylvania Municipal Training Partnership, and is a regular contributing author for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute.
Chuck and Barbara, his wife, reside in Lewisburg. They have three children and ten grandchildren who live in Lewisburg and Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania and Colorado Springs, Colorado.
